International Day of Peace is marked by poetry contest in Belarus

September 21 is marked as an International Day of Peace. On the eve of the holiday the Belarusian Peace Fund hosted the grand award ceremony bringing together participants from all the corners of the country and summed up the nationwide poetry contest “Happiness is living in a peaceful country!” by awarding the prizes to the finalists of the contest and presenting the book featuring the best poems. Representative of UNICEF in Belarus Dr. Rashed Mustafa Sarwar read a poem in Belarusian written by the 5th grade Ksenia Potapovich from Tugolitsa school in Bobriusk region.

The contest was organized by the Belarusian Peace Fund, together with Ministry of education of the Republic of Belarus, Ministry of culture of the Republic of Belarus and Ministry of information of the Republic of Belarus, local authorities and poets and writers of Belarus.
