UNICEF and H&M Conscious Foundation launched the joint Unicoin charitable project. Children together with their parents can submit drawings on unicoins.org, showing what they dream of becoming when they grow up. Then they exchange it for a Unicoin. Each of these coins will be converted to a set of one notebook and a pencil. The material will be distributed to children in need around the world by UNICEF.
The campaign aims at raising public awareness about the fact that more than 200 million children in pre-school age around the globe do not have access to education. Also, UNICEF and H&M want to highlight how important early childhood education and development are.
The Unicoin campaign is part of the Global Program for Education – a collaboration between H&M Conscious Foundation and UNICEF initiated in 2014.
