25 YEARS OF UNEVEN PROGRESS: the world remains a highly discriminatory place for girls
Despite gains in education, world still a violent, highly discriminatory place for girls. Two and a half decades after the historic Beijing women’s conference, violence against women and girls still not only common, but accepted.

WHO validates elimination of mother-to-child transmission of HIV and syphilis in Armenia, Belarus and the Republic of Moldova
United Nations agencies congratulate Belarus for eliminating mother-to-child transmission of both HIV and syphilis, as well as Armenia and Moldova for eliminating mother-to-child transmission of HIV and syphilis, respectively. During a ceremony in New York City, elimination validation certificates were presented to the Ministers of Health of the three European countries, who were attending the United Nations General Assembly High-level Meeting on Ending AIDS.

In May 2016, UNAIDS Country Office in Belarus and UNICEF Belarus have kicked off “It concerns even those whom it doesn’t concern” public awareness campaign devoted to the voluntary HIV testing.
