In 2019, UNICEF in Belarus embarks on an ambitious journey to build up a strong and sustainable volunteering movement in Belarus to support successful delivery of activities and events. This year, there are a great number of events planned as UNICEF expands its portfolio of programmatic work, especially in Sport for Development section, and increases the number of partners. Successful delivery of all of these depends on a strong group of committed and enthusiastic volunteers across Belarus. While UNICEF has number of trusted volunteers, we aim to scale up this initiative and engage many more young people into volunteering to increase adolescent participation and strengthen the social inclusion of particularly marginalized and vulnerable groups.
The National Volunteers’ Engagement Consultant will assist UNICEF Belarus with research, documentation, communication with volunteers, facilitation and other tasks in order to build a sustainable volunteer movement. Specifically, the Consultant will manage communication with volunteers on day-to-day basis, coordinate volunteer engagement prior and during events, support facilitation of training sessions for volunteers and research further opportunities to strengthen the capacity of volunteers and maximize their long-term involvement and retention . Volunteer engagement is closely tied to Sport for Development (S4D) section as its programmatic delivery heavily relies on constant engagement of volunteers. Consultant will therefore assist UNICEF Belarus with technical and methodological capacity building of the S4D partnerships, and with the technical input for development of the communication for development activities to support S4D. Consultant will support some of the key functions related to events management, communication and partnership management.
Consultant will work in close collaboration with UNICEF Sport for Development (S4D), Communication and Partnership teams.
